Be the Change: Start Walking Your Talk
by: Maria Khalife

Spiritual Awakening Sedona 300x250As you move through the stages of your life’s development, you are reading and studying to accumulate information. Your next wise step is to use what you’ve acquired by living what you’ve learned.

“To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.” ~ Joseph Chilton Pearce

When we talk to others, we are sending out information in these proportions: communications by your actions and by your words. Vocal and visual proportions make up 93%. When it comes to being believed and the verbal part, the words we merely say, are the lowest percentage – 7%. If our commitment due to using what we speak about isn’t there, folks don’t believe us.

If you are not successful in walking what you talk, it’s a high likelihood that you have Issues With Either Fear Or Lack Of Motivation. You’ll be happy to know that you can get past those fears so you can begin to walk your talk. This is the wonderful advise I’ve followed from M. Gandhi.

– Take an honest inventory of what you fear. Face the fear down and once you’re past it, you’ll discover it wasn’t so fearful after all. Then you can walk your talk and Be the Change.

– Make your goals into reasonably achieved smaller steps. Create a celebration when you get to a specific goalpost. Keep track of what you’ve accomplished, not what’s remaining.

– Which one of your friends can help you become accountable, and then celebrate with you. You can walk the talk together.

Here are some examples of Things You Might Be Afraid Of that would stop your forward progress:

– Fear of failure – If you try and you fail, you may think this is worse than not even starting. It isn’t.

– Fear of success – You may think that maintaining a success with others looking on will be too difficult.

– Fear of rejection – You might think your friends or associates at work will be jealous of you and shun you if you become too successful

– Fear of role-loss – You might have to step outside your norm and it will be uncomfortable.

Beginning to Walk Your Talk at Work

Mohandas Gandhi said “Become the change you wish to see in the world.” Beginning to walk your talk is the quickest way to experience success at work.

– Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Adopt the successful behavior of others.

– Follow the rules or the processes currently in place. If you can see a better way, suggest it.

– Don’t promise anything that you know you cannot fulfill. People will want to trust your words, and your actions will prove that those very words are valuable.

“The world of achievement has always belonged to the optimist”. ~ J. Harold Wilkins

Ready, right foot first. Begin that walk. Make your communications by your actions and by your words match.
