Big 2 4

Is London Language Studio Any Good?

big-2-4There are several reasons why one would want to learn another language.  The problem with this is that it’s actually quite difficult to do on your own.  There aren’t many who have the time and can actively create a space for their own self development.  Which is exactly what learning a new language is, it’s personal development.  It’s a challenge for most in today’s hectic life, and few can add space for anything outside of their existing routine.  This is presumably why many people don’t evolve over time, is that they cannot or will not make time for it.  Our schedules easily fill up with work, kids, family, friends, and other obligations.  So we often ask ourselves “where do we find the time?”  The answer is we must deliberately make time for our learning and development, even if that pushes aside those we love… just for a little while.  The truth is you’ll feel better, and act better towards others when you have some time for yourself, and can work on development of some kind.

Well in this case, I’d like to talk about learning languages, but specifically the methods used by the London Language Studio.  I particularly agree with their approach as they have addressed the most difficult aspects of learning a new language and overcome them beautifully.  Many programs don’t, or are not structured for providing a continued environment to practice your new language.  I know this from personal experience, as I’ve taken Spanish courses in University, I’ve taken them directly in foreign lands (Mexico), and traveled to South America for the last 10 years.  But you know what?  I still do not speak Spanish fluently.  This annoys me to no end, as I have actually put effort into learning and studying and writing tests, which I thought would render me able to speak the language.  Well, I’m not completely inept.  I can get by with some very basic phrases and understandings, but I am no where near fluent.

UntitledThis is because once you’ve finished spending money and completed your course, even at a University level, once the course is over – so is your experience of daily or weekly practice.  Eventually, as with all things they wither with non use.  Without a consistent daily, or weekly practice you’ll inevitably forget everything you’ve learned.  I’m living proof of that, as are many others.  But this is where the London Language Studio comes in.  They have addressed the number one reason people forget their language by providing a tutoring environment, and tailored lessons to individual needs.  They focus on patterns of speech, and are conscious of not overwhelming students.  From their website:

“Each class is individually prepared. Because each student is unique. “

“Without the London Language Studio, I would most likely have been ‘in and out’ of another typical language course. Instead, I am now learning a language in a way that is effective and at a pace tailored to my needs. I am very grateful that you have found a way to achieve what others cannot do; I am learning a new language, and enjoying it!”

Their approach seems tailored, and respects the needs of their clients.  Their list of high profile customers includes top names such as Sony Pictures (Ya, Sony), Sony Television, Club Med, and a host of others.  I certainly am interested in what they have to offer and hope other systems begin to follow their lead.
