The Great Remembering: Who You Are and Why You Are Here

In the quiet moments between the rush and noise of daily life, a whisper sometimes breaks through. It is a feeling, a faint echo of a song you once knew by heart. It is the nagging sense that there is more to you than the roles you play, the tasks you complete, and the body you inhabit. This whisper is the sound of your own soul, calling you to remember.

Conversations with God is, at its core, a manual for this Great Remembering. It is a mirror held up to your highest self, reflecting back a truth so magnificent that the mind struggles to contain it. Let us now state that truth plainly, and explore its breathtaking implications for your life on this physical plane.

The Unvarnished Truth of Your Identity

You have been taught that you are a human being, born in sin or blessed with a soul, on a journey to hopefully earn a place in heaven. This is a small story, a limited fiction that has caused immense pain. It is time for a larger truth.

“You are not your body. You are not your mind. You are Divine. You are the Divine expression of God, the sacred manifestation of the Divine, in human form.” â€” Book 1 (Paraphrase of core concepts)

Let’s go even deeper. You are not just from God; you are God, expressing in a particular, individuated way. You are a unique and irreplaceable aspect of the All-In-One, having a temporary and precious human experience.

“I tell you this: You are the creator of your own reality. And you are creating it in every minute. The question is not whether you are creating. The question is what you are creating.” â€” Book 1 (Paraphrase of core concepts)

This is the foundational revelation. You are God, creating. You are the ocean choosing, for a little while, to know itself as a wave. Your true identity is not the temporary, fleeting wave, but the eternal, limitless ocean itself. Every moment of doubt, every feeling of smallness, is the wave forgetting its true nature. Your entire spiritual journey is the process of the wave remembering it is the ocean.

The Soul’s Mission in the Physical Realm

So, if this is who you are, what are you supposed to do with your time here? The purpose is not to endure, to suffer, or to simply be “good.” The purpose is to actively, joyfully, and deliberately create.

“The purpose of your life is to re-create yourself anew in the grandest version of the greatest vision ever you held about Who You Are.” â€” Book 1

This is your mission, should you choose to accept it: to decide who you wish to be, and then to use the tools of this physical realm to be that. You are an artist, and your life is your masterpiece. The physical plane is your canvas, your studio, your gallery. It is the one place where the spiritual can be made tangible, where thought can become thing.

This is why you are here: to bring the formless into form. To make God visible, audible, and touchable through your unique being.

The Three Tools of Creation: Your Divine Toolkit

You have not been left without resources for this grand task. You have been equipped with a divine toolkit, three powerful creative instruments that you use in every moment, whether you realize it or not.

  1. Thought (The Idea): This is the first level of creation. Every single thing in your world began as a thought. Your beliefs, your ideas, your fears, and your dreams are the blueprints of your reality.
  2. Word (The Expression): What you declare, state, and affirm. This includes not only the words you speak aloud but the constant dialogue in your head. Your word is the command that sets energy into motion.
  3. Action (The Manifestation): The physical movement, the deed, the thing you do. Action is thought and word made flesh. It is the final, physical proof of what you truly believe.

“Your life is a physical manifestation of your word. Your world is a physical manifestation of the word of all of you, collectively.” â€” Book 1

To change your life, you must first change your word. To change your word, you must first change your thought. This is the path of the conscious creator.

The Central Task: To Choose and to Be

With this understanding, your daily life is transformed from a series of random events into a sacred practice of conscious choice. Every moment presents you with a single, powerful question:

“What do you wish to choose? Who do you wish to be in this moment?” â€” Book 1 (Paraphrase of core concepts)

The person who cuts you off in traffic is not an obstacle; they are an opportunity to choose between patience and irritation. The unexpected bill is not a curse; it is an opportunity to choose between faith in abundance or belief in scarcity. The personal conflict is not a failure; it is an opportunity to choose between forgiveness and resentment.

There are no “right” or “wrong” choices in a moral sense, only choices that lead you closer to, or further from, the “grandest version” of yourself. Your emotions are your guide. When you feel joy, peace, and love, you are aligned with Who You Really Are. When you feel fear, anger, and contraction, you have chosen a thought that is out of alignment with your divine nature.

A Life of Purpose, Not Function

This remembering shatters the conventional view of a “successful” life. It is not about accumulating wealth, status, or possessions. These are byproducts, not the goal. The goal is the quality of your being.

“The value of your life does not consist in what you do, but in what you are being while you are doing what you are doing.” â€” Book 1 (Paraphrase of core concepts)

You can be a janitor and be a magnificent, joyful expression of God, bringing order and light to a small corner of the world. You can be a CEO and be a fearful, contracted expression of ego, creating misery for all around you. The what is irrelevant. The who you are being is everything.

Your purpose is to infuse your every action—from the most mundane to the most celebrated—with the highest quality of being you can muster: love, joy, creativity, and freedom.

The Call to Action: Your Life as a Declaration

The time for wishing and hoping is over. The time for remembering and being is now. You are not here to find your purpose. You are here to declare it with your every thought, word, and action.

Start today. In this very moment:

  • Think a New Thought: Choose one thought that aligns with your grandest self. “I am abundant.” “I am peace.” “I am loved.”
  • Speak a New Word: Declare it, even in a whisper. Give it the power of your voice. “I choose to see this situation with love.” “I am grateful for the good that is now coming to me.”
  • Take a New Action: Do one small thing that proves your new thought and word. Make a gesture of generosity. Create something for the joy of it. Forgive an old hurt.

You are not a helpless victim of circumstance. You are a powerful creator, a divine being of light, and your time in this physical realm is a sacred gift. Use it to do the most important work you will ever do: to create, to express, and to become the magnificent being you were always meant to be.

“You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Let your light so shine…” â€” Book 1 (Paraphrase of core concepts)

Go now, and shine. The world is waiting for the unique light that only you can bring.
